Syntonic to Provide Early Findings from Highline Public School Deployment to Bridge the Digital Access Divide

Seattle, WA – May 4, 2015Syntonic, a mobile platform service provider, today announced its plans to exhibit at the Association of Computer Professionals in Education (ACPE) Northwest 2015 annual conference taking place May 6-8 in Welches, Oregon. The company will be showcasing Syntonic On-Ramp Education Services™ to bridge the digital access divide in education, and will be sharing early findings about providing school approved, secure web access to Washington State students who lack home Internet access. Syntonic will be exhibiting alongside top companies and professionals in the education technology industry, including HP, Microsoft, Verizon, and Dell.

“The One-to-One Computing program and similar efforts have done a great job of providing computing equipment to U.S. students,” said Gary Greenbaum, CEO of Syntonic. “However, the breadth of these deployments has highlighted a significant gap. Many students don’t have Internet access at home or off campus and that has created a digital access divide. We are directly addressing that challenge with Syntonic On-Ramp Education Services, and we’re excited to be attending ACPE Northwest to demonstrate a cost-effective, and easily deployed solution to connect students to school approved educational content—anywhere and anytime.”

In September 2014, Syntonic teamed up with Highline Public Schools, which serves nearly 19,000 K-12 students in 39 schools, to provide equal access to online educational resources and learning tools—anywhere and anytime. Using Syntonic On-Ramp Education Services, the school provisioned over 850 HP Chromebooks with high-speed, AT&T nationwide LTE cellular network connectivity to enable students’ off-campus and at-home access to school-approved learning apps. In addition to enabling connectivity, school administrators receive real-time reports and have secure access to data analytics that show students’ usage to better understand academic progress. Syntonic and Highline will publish a complete end-of-year assessment outlining the relationship of On-Ramp Education Services to student achievement.
